Red River Ski and Summer Area

Red River Ski and Summer Area has a host of activities perfect for your family. Some of the activities include a scenic chair lift ride or playing disc golf on the property. Your family might also enjoy the ropes course or soak in the thrills on the Pioneer Flyer zip line. Red River Community House

The Red River Community House has a lot of hats. It hosts various events, many of which are free, throughout the summer, making it a top venue for your New Mexico family vacation. Some of the activities include weekly boat building for kids, family movie nights, line dancing, s'mores and stores, Bingo and yoga. The venue also hosts senior citizen games and weekly music time for musicians of all levels and skill levels. Red River Community House also hosts several religious events. Each Sunday during the summer, there is a one-hour interdenominational worship service preceded by fellowshiping with coffee and donuts. There is also weekly Bible study. Go Kart City

Try your hand at the joys of go-kart racing with a trip to Go Kart City. Passengers must be at least 2 years old to drive. Racers over 4'8" can drive single while racers over 5' can drive double. Red River City Ponds
Address: Along Claim Jumper Street
These municipal ponds are a great place to enjoy fishing without venturing into the backcountry. The large pond to the east is open to all anglers while the smaller one to the west is dedicated to handicapped anglers and those under 12. Fishers have a bag limit of three trout per day and the ponds are open from March 1 to Nov. 15. A New Mexico fishing license is required.

Shopping
Red River's main street is littered with various gift shops. Taking a stroll down Main Street and window shopping is sure to keep your family entertained. The Red River Trading Company (200 E. Main St.) and Main Street Mercantile (301 W. Main St.) are popular destination and features a host of souvenirs. Bear X-ing (600 E. Main St.) is another great shop to visit to check out some chainsaw carvings and other gifts. Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth? Stop on by The Candy Crate and Candy Mountain Fudge (300 W.
